Regional Trialing

Wrightson Seeds Australia maintains the largest regional trial program for forage pasture seed testing in Australia. We also have an enormous database of our own and public trial results that forms the basis of our regional pasture recommendations. We want to know what performs well and badly in the different pasture regions around Australia, so that we can provide Australian advisors and farmers with the confidence in knowing that if Wrightson recommend a
variety as suitable for a given region that it will perform close to or at the top of production for that region.

Each page in this Guide has a key to regional suitability - a service unable to be matched by other forage seed companies, many of whom market forages nationally based on a small number of trials often only in safe growing sites.
Wrightson maintains 20-30 regional trials each year and shifts sites regularly to expand trialing into more locations all the time. The map below highlights trials undertaken by Wrighton Research and trials contracted to other independent trial groups such as APPEC, Queensland DPI, NSW Agriculture, PIRSA and DPIWE Tasmania since 2000
