IMPORTANCE OF LEGUMES
No farmer can afford to underestimate the importance of legumes to pastoral farming. Their superior forage quality is
capable of increasing livestock production but unlike grasses, legumes are able to fix nitrogen from the air and make it
available to the pasture. This effectively provides free nitrogen to your system: 70-100 kg N for sub clover pastures and 200-250 kg N/ha for high white clover content pastures.
LIMITATIONS

  • Legumes need to be infected by soil borne rhizobia bacteria which are not always present in Australian soils
  • Traditional inoculation by slurry treatment is slow and messy and offers only a short life of applied rhizobia - 24 hours
  • Traditional lime coating falls off during sowing process restricting seeding rate over time giving uneven sowing

WHAT IS SUPERSTRIKE ® ?
As the name implies, Superstrike ® in new technology seed coating designed and tested to improve establishment rate of
legumes. It includes:

  • Superior strains of rhizobia
  • Higher levels of applied rhizobia than slurry
  • Molybdenum trace element for early development
  • Fungicide to combat unseen pythium and phytophthera disease
  • Lime & polymer coating to ensure safe encapsulation

BENEFITS

  • Long life inoculation - increased from 3-5 days out to 12 weeks
  • Get your seed early and sow on time, not wait for inoculation
  • Better plant establishment rates
  • Consistent flow through combines and air seeders

SUPERSTRIKE ® PLUS
Red legged earthmite (RLEM) is the biggest cause of legume establishment losses in temperate pastures. Superstrike ® Plus offers the inclusion of Gaucho ® , a systemic insecticide which protects against RLEM for 3-4 weeks. Trials have shown significant improvements in clover establishment using Superstrike ® Plus over untreated seed or post-emergent insecticide application. When ordering your seed request Superstrike ® or Superstrike ® Plus
