- Fastest early winter production for southern regions
- Highest yielding short term ryegrass for 2 -3 grazings
- Low cost option
SUNGRAZER T ryegrass is an early maturity tetraploid
annual italian ryegrass for fast early winter feed.
SUNGRAZER T has consistently produced the highest
quantity of feed of any annual or italian ryegrass for the
first 2 - 3 grazings in southern Australian trials.
SUNGRAZER T offers a low cost option for quick winter
production for producers wishing to graze or cut silage
early and prepare for a summer forage crop.
In pasture trials in southern Australia, SUNGRAZER T has
provided earlier winter production than Tetila at a time
when it really counts.
It establishes very quickly from both drilled and broadcast
sowings, especially when nitrogen is used at sowing.

What the producers say...
Chris Dinges, wool and lamb producer, Bulart VIC
“We were after an alternative winter feed option to oats. The winter feed
from Sungrazer T was critical for the success of our autumn lambing
operation.
Sungrazer T produced good late winter feed and we got 5t/ha of quality
hay plus a couple of light grazings.”
Peter Tanner, dairy producer, Goorambat VIC
“I sowed Sungrazer T and balansa clover into the dry country on our
dairy farm to produce high quality silage.
Sungrazer T established well, was grazed lightly through late winter and
then produced a bulk of good quality, leafy silage crop along with a light
hay crop. I was very happy with it.”
Steve Treloar, dairy producer, Waitpinga SA
“Sungrazer T was used to get early feed and to produce top quality
silage. It did perform brilliantly and the cows have milked well on it.
In spring, the Sungrazer T was precision chopped and stored in a bunker,
along with round bales. The silage yielded 5t DM/ha on the first cut and
2t DM/ha on the second cut and the feed test was 9.6 MJ ME/kg and
21% CP.”

MANAGEMENT TIPS
For sowing tetraploid annuals such as Sungrazer T and Winter Star
- Sow these grasses as early as possible in autumn to maximize
winter production
- Sow at 25-40% higher sowing rate than diploids
- Consider sowing with Persian clover to improve late season
quality for grazing or fodder conservation.
- Graze as soon as they will withstand pulling to avoid grass outcompeting
clover and to improve tillering
