Synovex

THE 10:1 RATIO MEANS SYNOVEX, WITH TBA* IMPROVES PERFORMANCE IN ANY PROGRAM

No matter what your production goal or implant strategy, Synovex with TBA can help you maximise feed efficiency and improve overall performance. Its exclusive ratio of I0 parts TBA (trenbolone acetate) to one part active oestrogen delivered improved feed-to-gain and average daily gain results in pre- approval dose titration studies (see charts below).
Subsequent pre-launch studies and post-launch commercial :studies have demonstrated the superior performance that the 10:1 ratio delivers in both single-implant and re-implant programs.
Dose titration studies proved 10:1 to be the better ratio

This equals a 5% advantage to the 10:1 ratio implant

This equals a 3.6% advantage to the 10:1 ratio implant
(Pooled treatment and trials. Ref EB 3(.40595)
Dose titration studies involving 1200 mixed breed cattle compared the performance of a 10:1 ratio combination implant with a 5:1 ratio combination implant. Steers implanted with 10:1 TBA-combination implants gained weight faster, and had better feed conversion than their 5:1 ratio counterparts. Synovex with TBA and its unique 10:1 ratio was developed as a result of these studies.

Compare the results for yourself Synovex®* with TBA implants deliver more efficient gains than Revalor!

Better feed efficiency

Kilograms of feed required per kilogram of liveweight gain. That's what the cattle feeding business is all about. And feedlot trials prove that Synovex with TBA delivers gains more efficiently than Revalor-S.

15 trials were conducted in the United States using Synovex with TBA and Revalor-S. Revalor-S in the United States has I20mg of trenbolone acetate and 24mg oestradiol at a ratio of 5:1.

In 13 of 15 trial comparisons, feedlot animals receiving Synovex with TBA required an average of 12kg less feed^ for each 100kg of liveweight gain.

At around $180/tonne of feed, that could equate to $5.00 per head at the end of the feeding period. When you add up the results, Synovex with TBA significantly lowers feeding costs in your operation. And these savings are directly added to your bottom line!

^Calculated on dry matter basis.

Note: The comparisons made in this brochure are between Synovex® with TBA and the USA formulation of Revalor' S. The Australian formulation of Revalor S contains 140mg of TBA and 28mg of oestradiol, and in the USA has 120mg of TBA and 24mg of oestradiol - both maintain a ration of 5:1.

Needs no refrigeration

Advances in packaging using a special nitrogen filled foil-lined pouch ensure that the pellets remain stable and free from degradation, even without refrigeration. The moisture proof seal ensures that the pellets do not soften during storage, even in areas of high humidity. This allows for more flexibility in handling and transportation. Once a pouch, containing ten 10-dose cartridges has been opened, unused product may be stored in end-folded pouches away from light for up to one month at room temperature (30°C) and for up to six months under refrigeration (2-8°C).

No need to carry separate Steer and Heifer implants

Synovex with TBA maximise's performance in both steers and heifers thereby optimising inventory control and producing $ savings. Why carry 2 products when 1 will do a superior job?

This all means

  • Greater flexibility in transport and storage
  • No chance of product degrading in normal working conditions
  • Lower inventory costs and easier control
  • One product for steers and heifers - no confusion at induction

The bottom line... Synovex® with TBA makes the difference

  • It's the right combination
  • Less feed used per kg of liveweight gain
  • Lower cost of gain
  • More dollars to your bottom line

BETTER BEEF STARTS WITH QUALITY IMPLANTING

Implanting is the single most profitable procedure performed at the processing chute. A single high-performance implant like Synovex with TBA at the beginning of the feeding period can add an extra $50-$60 per animal to your bottom line. Conversely, if an implant is crushed, bunched, abscessed or otherwise placed incorrectly in the ear, this profit potential is reduced or lost.

Fortunately, there are a few simple steps you can take to enhance implanting effectiveness and overall quality, and help ensure you get about $15 in profit improvement for every dollar invested. These include practicing good sanitation at the implant site, using a retractable needle device like the new SX10® Gun; and participating in the Synovex Profit Improvement Program (P.I.P.) from Fort Dodge Animal Health.

Improve implanting accuracy with the new SX10® Gun

The easy to use new Synovex SX10 Gun helps ensure that each implant is placed in the ear correctly. What's more, it ease of use allows your team to focus on sanitation and other important processing procedures.

  • Exclusive retractable needle deposits implant pellets in an even row under the skin, helping prevent crushing or bunching problems
  • The new SX10 Gun is easy to use - just pull the trigger and the needle retracts automatically, leaving the implant pellets in place
  • The new SX10 Gun has been found to improve implanting accuracy 5.25% over fixed-needle devices, based on ear checks of nearly one million cattle

This improvement translates into a saving of $1.68 - $1.79 for every animal in the feedlot when using a high-performance implant like Synovex with TBA.

P.I.P. Improving profits through quality

The new SX10 Gun is part of the Synovex Profit Improvement Program (P.I.P.), a total quality program designed to help you gain the highest possible returns from your implant program.

CRT Kyneton will work with you and your implanting crew to:

  • Evaluate the quality of your current implant program
  • Establish quality implanting goals
  • Develop a quality assurance program exclusively for your operation
  • Train crew members in the correct processing, handling, sanitation and implanting techniques
  • Provide the necessary sanitation tools and implant device
  • Help you monitor and analyse results

Synovex® S Synovex® H ...... the tried and proven implants over many years

With a simple implant in the ear, Synovex S and Synovex H have helped Australian cattle producers maximise weight gains and increase yields for well over I0 years.

By allowing each implanted animal the chance to make the most of high nutritional planes (such as peak pasture conditions or supplementary feeding), and to maximise each animal's potential to grow, Synovex S and Synovex H have earned the trust of cattlemen Australia wide who seek to produce more edible beef from less feed.

Synovex S and Synovex H both contain hormones that occur naturally. Their use results in an increase of natural growth hormone in the bloodstream of the implanted animals, an increase in the rate of protein synthesis and a decrease in protein breakdown. This results in more meat and less fat.

Synovex S offers flexibility, because it may be used in the growth or finishing phase in pasture, supplement or lot fed steers, and is registered in Australia for use in castrated cattle over 6 weeks of age.

Synovex H is registered for use in female cattle over 6 weeks of age and can be administered to replacement heifers to achieve maximum growth, although it is advisable to leave 7 months from implanting to joining.

Synovex S and Synovex H along with Synovex with TBA give cattle producers a range of products flexible enough to fit a variety of feeding programs, and a quality standard to maximise profitability and performance.
The bottom line Synovex® products make the difference.
